The UC Santa Barbara Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) includes representation from all ICA sports and is assembled to provide insight on the student athlete experience.  


SAAC meets once a month during the academic year.  The group engages in discussion and action in areas impacting student athlete experience including but not exclusive to current and proposed conference and NCAA legislation, fostering an inclusive student athlete environment, concerns regarding athletic and academic time requirements, sportsmanship and provides opportunities for community outreach and service.

    • December 5: wrapping presents (optional meeting)

    • Take a picture while attending sporting events and post to GroupMe
    • Continue supporting other sports teams

    • Questioned our ideas regarding Big West Championships and our experiences during competition
      • What’s important for championship events?  Rotation of venues?  Neutral sites?  Facilities?  Fan attendance?  Missed class time?  Championship awards (team/single)?  Ability to stream/televise championship events?  Championship banquets and décor?  Hotel accommodations and meals?
