SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Palina Dubavets, Natalie Da Silveira and Jaimee Gilbertson have each advanced to the Round of 32 in the singles competition at the 2016 USTA/ITA Southwest Regional at the University of San Diego.

Dubavets, who had a bye in the first round, swept past UC Irvine's Cassidy Branstine in the Round of 64, 6-1, 6-2.

Da Silveira first win of the day came in three sets as she defeated Karla Portalatin of Cal State Fullerton, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2. She then needed just two sets to do away with Celina Buhr of Grand Canyon, 6-1, 7-6 (4).

Gilbertson first victim was Sara Khattab of UC Riverside, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. She too then swept her second opponent, Siobhan Anderson of Loyola Marymount 6-4, 6-3.

Melissa Baker beat Nicole Anderson of USD 6-7, 7-6, ret., in the Round of 128 before falling to UCLA's Alaina Miller in the Round of 64, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

All three UCSB doubles teams had byes into the Round of 32 in the doubles competition, including Dubavets and Stefani Stojic, the No. 1 seeded team.
