UCSB Athletics' weekly radio show, Talk'n Gauchos, will wrap up its 2011-12 talk show season with a very special finale on Tuesday, April 17. The show airs live from the Beachside Bar-Cafe, located on beautiful Goleta Beach. The show, which airs live on AM 1290 and streaming online (click here to listen), will be broadcast from 6-7 p.m.
Fans who show up to the Beachside will be able to take in the show live while also receiving free Gaucho tickets and new Gaucho gear. Those unable to attend, are encouraged to send in questions to the guests through the UCSB Athletics Twitter (@UCSBgauchos) and Facebook (facebook.com/UCSBAthletics) pages. Fans whose questions are read live on air will receive a discount to The Gauchos Shop.
UCSB Director of Athletics Mark Massari will be the special guest for the one-hour show as he will discuss all things related to UCSB Athletics. Massari will give his annual "State of the Gauchos" update to recap another exciting year in Gaucho athletics and also to look ahead about what is in store for the future of UCSB and its Athletics Department.
Massari, in his fourth year as the Director of Athletics, has helped UCSB become more of a national presence in his time here. He has overseen record-breaking crowds at soccer and basketball, four NCAA Tournament teams in men's and women's basketball, numerous All-Americans – including current No. 1 in the nation Barbara Nwaba in the heptathlon – and helped the department grow with initiatives like DARE Magazine, the Be Great campaign and The Gaucho Fund.
Gerry Fall, the Voice of the Gauchos, will host the show.
