SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara men's basketball team could have as many as 16 of its regular season games televised or carried on ESPN3, by far the most opportunities in recent years.

The Nov. 14  season opener at the University of Kansas, which will be carried on ESPN3 and ESPN Fullcourt, will kickoff the broadcast slate. Next up will be all three games at the Nov. 27-29 Great Alaska Shootout, which will be carried on the CBS Sports Network.

"This is great exposure for us," said UCSB heac coach Bob Williams. "We believe we have a chance to be very good this season and the opportunity for our fans and students to see us play so many times is exciting."

The Gauchos have numerous key players back this season. The 2014-15 roster will include Big West Player of the Year and Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American Alan Williams, Honorable Mention All-Big West swingman Michael Bryson, Honorable Mention All-Big West point guard Zalmico Harmon, point guard Eric Childress, and forwards Mitch Brewe and Sam Beeler

Also expected back are swingman John Green, who missed all but two games in 2012-13 with foot and wrist injuries, two-year starting point guard T.J. Taylor, who missed the entire 2012-13 campaign after hip surgery, and Alex Hart, a 6-foot-10 long-distance shooter, will be a redshirt freshman.

In there will be four other brand new players on the roster next season. In November, the Gauchos signed Gabe Vincent (6-foot-3/Stockton, Calif./St. Mary's HS) and Justin Burks (6-foot-6/Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View HS) to National Letters of Intent, and in the late signing period they added guard DaJuan Smith (6-foot-3/Abbeville, La./Abbeville HS/Mt. San Jacinto J.C.) and 6-foot-8 center Ami Lakoju (Harlem, N.Y./St. Luke's School in New Caanan, Conn.).

UCSB opens regular practice on Saturday, Oct. 4.
