Santa Barbara, Calif- After competitive Tennis last week, including a 4-3 defeat against No. 9 Baylor and a 4-3 victory versus New Mexico, the Gauchos prepare to face-off against Texas Christian University and Gonzaga University.
The Gauchos remain ranked 57th nationally with a season record of 7-4 and 1-0 in Big West play.
Although the Gauchos had a close loss against No. 9 Baylor, the dynamic tandem of Senior Morgan Mays and Simon Freund defeated No. 57 Will Little and Johannes Schretter of Baylor to continue their hot streak. Their streak came to end unfortunately when they were defeated in an exciting match against NMU's Ricky Hernandez-Tong and Rodolfo Jaregui 7-6.
Tomorrow at 1:30, UC Santa Barbara matches up against Texas Christian University, who recently defeated No. 6 California 4-3 and No. 41 Stanford 4-3. In TCU's last five matches they have only been defeated by No. 3 Wake Forest 4-3.
Gonzaga, 4-3 overall, is on a hot streak as well. In their last five matches, they have been victorious in four. The last time the Gauchos faced off against Gonzaga, the Gauchos defeated Gonzaga 6-1, defeating Gonzaga in all six singles sets.
UC Santa Barbara's match against TCU will be held at home at the Recreation Tennis Courts on Monday at 1:30 then Wednesday's match versus Gonzaga will be held at the Recreation Tennis Courts at 1:30 as well.
