'Dogs Bite Gauchos, Win 4-3 in Thriller

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team continued to struggle in doubles play thus far this season, losing the point 2-1 to Fresno St. on Thursday before ultimately falling 4-3 in the match. Joseph Guillin and Alejandro Vedri continued to provide stability for the Gauchos, winning their doubles and singles matchups.

The Gauchos are pushed down to 2-5 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 2-2. Fresno State took the early lead after clinching the doubles point on court three, where Alex Soto and Luka Vukmanovic lost 6-4. Joseph Rotheram and Victor Krustev were the first off with a 6-2 defeat.

Guillin, Krustev and Vedri handled business on courts 1-3 but Rotheram and Vukmanovic were sat down on courts four and five. Vedri's win against Seeman (Fresno St.) was Seeman's first loss in three games.

Joshua Williams came into the matchup riding a modest win streak to start his career, but lost a hotly contested match 7-6 (7-5) on court six.
