Shoemaker capped off his Gaucho career by leading the team with 47 goals and was named Honorable Mention All-MPSF…Along with 15 assists, he paced the team with 62 points…Attempted a team-high 157 shots (4.6 per game)…Paced the roster with 17 field blocks and finished second on the team with 28 steals…Drew 15 ejections…Played his best water polo down the stretch, as he led the Gauchos in scoring in four of their final five games…Overall, he was the team’s leading scorer in eight games…Tallied four goals on three occasions…One of his best moments came in a 6-5 upset over No. 7 UC Irvine when he delivered the game-winner at the buzzer.

Derek Shoemaker sat out the 2014 season as a redshirt.

Played in all 28 games for the second year in a row... Scored 40 goals which ranked third on the team...Also had 16 assists on the year. Totaled 17 steals, earned 18 field blocks, and 32 player ejections. Scored six goals in the 17-7 victory against Pomona- Pitzer

Played in all 28 games for the Gauchos...Scored 25 goals, which was fourth on the team...Led the team with 23 steals...Tallied 22 ejections earned and 14 assists...Scored multiple goals on eight occasions...Had a season-high four goals against UCLA (Sept. 30).

Selected to the ACWPC All-Academic Team...Played in 26 games for the Gauchos…Posted 22 goals…Drew 17 ejections and penalties…Tallied 10 steals, which was tied for third on the team…Led the team with 11 field blocks…Had 12 assists…Had a season-best four-game scoring streak on two separate occasions running from Sept. 18 through Oct. 1 and Oct. 30 through Nov. 12…Scored multiple goals on six different occasions.

Attended Dos Pueblos High School…Was coached by Chris Parrish…Earned All-American Second Team, All-CIF First Team and All-Channel League First Team honors…Also competed in swimming. 

Played for Santa Barbara Water Polo Club.
