SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara men's water polo program announced its 2019 schedule on Wednesday afternoon, featuring six games to be played at Campus Pool.
UCSB will kick off the fall slate as it does every year at the annual Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego on Sept. 7-8. The following weekend will see the Gauchos in a tune-up against Division III competition at the Inland Empire Classic hosted by Redlands.
The home-opener, set for Thursday, Sept. 19, will be a twofer as the Gauchos host Ottawa University at 12:00 p.m. before turning around and playing rival Pepperdine in a designated non-conference match under the lights at 6:00 p.m.
A road trip to Palo Alto pits Santa Barbara against national runner-up Stanford on Saturday, Sept. 21 before UCSB competes in the toughest tournament of the year, the MPSF Invite, hosted by UCLA from Sept. 27-29.
Mark Sunday, Oct. 6 on your calenders as defending champion USC comes to Campus Pool in the biggest game of the year set to begin at 12:00 p.m., and will be followed by the UCSB alumni game at 2:00 p.m.
The final two non-conference matches have the Gauchos traveling to UCLA on Friday, Oct. 11 and hosting Cal on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Golden Coast Conference play begins with Pacific coming to town on Oct. 19 with the Gauchos heading to Long Beach State the following Saturday, Oct. 26.
Saturday, Nov. 2 will be the final regular season home match, and senior night, when UCSB hosts UC Irvine at 7:00 p.m.
From there the Gauchos will wrap up the regular season with a two-game road trip, first at San Jose State on Nov. 9 and the regular-season finale at Pepperdine on Nov. 16.
The GCC Tournament will be hosted by Pepperdine and will run from Nov. 22-24.
