2017 Cross Country
Ran five meets in his first season in uniform. Finished 8th place in the open section of the UC Riverside Invitational clocking 25:49.7. Took 31st at the Titan Invitational with a personal best of 25:22.9.
Redshirt season. Clocked 3:57.40 at the Bryan Clay Invitational running unattached.
2016 Cross Country
Graduated from La Costa Canyon High School. Captained his XC team to a CIF San Diego Section win. At the CIF State Meet, recorded 15:30 for 5k and placed 9th, earning All-State Honors. Has a 1600m PR of 4:17.84 in the 1600m and was the Div 1 San Diego Section 1600m Champion. Coached by Bill Vice.
Parents are Kristen McBride and Gary Johnson... Was senior class president at LCC and founder and president of the amnesty international club...Major is molecular, cellular, and developmental biology with a minor in Spanish....Plans to become an orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine...College running goals include running 14:30 in the 5k and 3:50 in the 1500m...Would also love to have a "darn good time"...Favorite hobbies include surfing, and laying in bed face down with his head slightly turned to breathe...Fun fact: Bryan holds the Encinitas Denny's record for most pancakes eaten in a a single sitting - 16.5.
