Competed in eight meets for his first track season. Took an eye opening second place in the 1500m at the Cal Poly/UC Riverside Tri Meet with a personal best clocking of 3:55.61. Set a personal best time of 4:16.61 in the full mile at the Jim Bush Invitational, winning his heat. Took third at the Big West Challenge in the 1500m, setting another personal best at 3:54.66. Bested that time just two weeks later at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a time of 3:53.44. Finished the season with scoring at the Big West Conference Championships in the 1500m in seventh with a time of 3:59.09.
2017 Cross Country
Competed in two meets for his first season as a Gaucho. Ran 25:51.9 to finish 64th at the UC Riverside Invitational. Also ran 25:37.7 to finish 101st at the Bill Dellinger Invitational.
Graduate of Dana Hills High School. Was part of two qualifying teams in 2015 and 2016 to Nike Cross Nationals, finishing as high as third and 14th in the overall team standings. Made it all the way to the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet in track in the 1600m where he placed tenth. Coached by Tim Butler, Craig Dunn, and Jim Copp.
Parents are George and Debra Wilfert...Majoring in Accounting/Economics...plans to become an accountant...hobbies include going to the beach, cooking, and listening to music.
