FRESNO, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara softball team's (5-11) six-game slate at the Fresno State Invitational came to an end with a five-inning 8-0 loss to Pacific (8-4) on Sunday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond.

Junior left fielder Sammy Fabian and senior OP Carissa Felix both went 2-for-3 at the plate in the loss.

In the second inning, Hannah Krosky scored the first run of the game by plating Carly Lucchetti with a single to right field.

After Madeline Domingo sac bunted to advance Krosky to third in the next at-bat, Myka Sutherlin brought in Krosky to double the lead.

One batter and one out later, Madison Kahwaty singled in Sutherlin for the Tigers' third run of the game.

The fourth and fifth runs for Pacific came in the next two spots, with Talli Shepherd's single up the middle scoring Kahwaty and a Jessica Mabrey double getting Shepherd across the plate.

With the bases loaded in the top of the fourth, Pacific's Mabrey cleared the horn with a three-run single to get Pacific up 8-0.

The game ended after the fifth inning due to the run-rule.

The loss was UCSB's fifth of the six games it played this weekend.

After spending the first three weeks on the road, the Gauchos finally come home for the Gaucho Classic tournament, featuring Saint Peter's, Bradley, and Portland State.
