LOS ANGELES, Calif.- In its fourth straight match against a top-25 team, UC Santa Barbara women's tennis fell to No. 4 UCLA 7-0 after it dropped a 4-2 match to No. 19 USC earlier in the weekend.

The pair of losses moves UCSB to 1-4 on the season with its sole win coming from a 5-2 victory in the season opener against University of San Francisco.

The weekend began at Marks Stadium vs USC when the Gauchos went ahead early with doubles wins on courts two and three. Dominika Paterova and Anastasia Goncharova bested Salma Ewing and Constance Branstine 6-3 before Shakhnoza Khatamova and Tiffany Lagarde secured the doubles advantage with a 7-5 win over Danielle Willson and Estella Jaeger.

Lagarde delivered a 6-1, 7-6 (6) singles win for UCSB on court four against No. 68 Sydney Van Alphen, but USC managed to gnab four singles wins to complete the comeback victory 4-2 over the Gauchos.

Santa Barbara fought with ferocity against No. 4 UCLA, but the prowess of the Bruins proved too much for the UCSB to handle.

No. 2 doubles pair Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart led the way for UCLA in doubles play while five ranked singles players finished off the 7-0 win for the Bruins.

Up next for UC Santa Barbara women's tennis, the Gauchos head to Orlando, Fla., home of the UCF Knights for a weekend tournament that kicks off Saturday, February 15 with a first match scheduled against TCU.
