SAN DIEGO, Calif.- UC Santa Barbara women's tennis delivered its first road victory of the season as it defeated No. 32 University of San Diego with a 4-3 final after falling to No. 43 Washington State 4-2 earlier in the weekend.

Santa Barbara has won three of its last four to improve to 5-6 in dual match season following its first win over a ranked opponent this year.

Senior Dominika Paterova extended her singles win streak to five straight as she went undefeated in singles play over the weekend, including the clinching finish against USD.

In doubles play, Paterova and teammate Anastasia Goncharova rolled through USD's Solymar Colling and Helena Frantica with a 6-3 win from court one as UCSB looked to secure the doubles advantage early.

Improving to 3-1 in dual match doubles play, Amit Lev Ari and Lise Sentenac took the 6-3 win over Maria Tyrina and Gemma Garcia to collect the doubles point for UCSB.

Goncharova kept the wins coming with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Tyrina on court four which gave the Gauchos an early 2-1 advantage.

The Toreros battled back with three straight of their own to put UCSB back in the hole as San Diego sought just one win to clinch a victory.

From the fifth court, Juliana Valero held off Kati Kukaras with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-3 win which set up a deciding match between Paterova and Garcia on court three.

In three sets, Paterova outplayed Garcia with a thrilling 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 triumph to clinch the victory for UCSB over No. 32 USD.

Earlier in the weekend, No. 43 Washington State proved to be a difficult matchup for the Gauchos.

Despite losing the doubles point, Santa Barbara would fight in singles play, highlighted by wins from Paterova and Valero.

From the three-hole, Paterova overcame Savanna Ly-Nguyen 6-3, 6-3 in a two-set sweep before Valero took out WSU's Yang Lee with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) finish to make up a pair of singles wins for UCSB against Washington State.

The Gauchos will continue their road stand at No. 17 Pepperdine on Friday, March 6 before coming home to host Loyola Marymount University on Saturday, March 7.
