2015-2016 Outdoor

Competited in five meets for the Gauchos. Chopped off a good two seconds off her collegiate best in the 400m with a 57.24 at the All UC Championship. Had a big day at the Big West Double Dual by winning the 400m in a new personal best of 57.13 and placing third in the 200m, again setting another personal best with a time of 25.55. Contributed to both relay teams at the Big West Challenge Cup with a pair of third place finishes. 

2014-2015 Outdoor
Carney competed in five meets during her freshman track campaign.  Opened the year with a runner-up showing in the 200m, finishing in 25.74 to help the Gauchos win the Round-Up. Placed sixth at the All-UC in the 400m, recording a time of 59.40. Helped the Gauchos to a third place showing in the 4 x 100m relay at the UCR Spring Track Classic. Helped the Gauchos to a seventh place 4 x 400m showing at the Stanford Invite. 

Carney will be a key addition to the Gaucho sprints and relay corps. She was a Baseline League medalist in the 400m for the Grizzlies of Los Osos, helping her team capture two league titles. She was recognized as a scholar athlete all four years at Los Osos. She was a CIF finalist in the 400m and in the 4 x 100m relay. She also played soccer at Los Osos High School. 

Parents are Marlon and Michael Carney...Major is currently Communications...Aspires for a career in Marketing and Public Relations...Enjoys watching movies, shopping and going to the beach...Favorite book is The Alchemist...Most memorable athletic achievement was anchoring the Los Osos 4 x 400m team to the league title, a win which captured the team victory for the Grizzlies...Personal hero is Sanya Richards-Ross.
