HONOLULU, Hawaii – The No. 11 UC Santa Barbara women's water polo team fell to No. 5 Hawaii in its 2019 road finale on Saturday by a final score of 15-9.

The Gauchos are now 19-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Rainbow Wahine improve to 16-5 overall, 4-1 in Big West.

Junior utility Sarah Snyder led the way with her third consecutive hat trick. Kate Pipkin and Caitlyn Snyder added two goals apiece.

A strong start for the home side saw them take an 8-1 lead into halftime, as they ended the first half with seven unanswered goals. Senior Sarah Kreiser provided the Gauchos' lone score of the opening half.

The UCSB offense woke up in the second half, scoring four goals in both the third and fourth quarters. Unfortunately for the Gauchos, the Rainbow Wahine put up seven second half goals of their own.

Freshman Amanda Legaspi also found the scoresheet in the final minutes, putting UCSB's final goal away with 1:40 remaining. Goalkeepers Kenzi Snyder and Becca Buck split time in the cage, tallying five saves each.

Santa Barbara will return home next Saturday for its regular season finale against Long Beach State.
